Quiñones named managing editor of the PWB
Princeton NJ — A reorganization in the Office of Communications has resulted in a change in leadership for the Princeton Weekly Bulletin.
Eric Quiñones, a staff member in the office for five years who has served most recently as senior writer, has been promoted to managing editor of the PWB. In addition to continuing to write many of the stories, he will be responsible for the day-to-day activities associated with the production of each issue, such as making assignments to other writers and editing their copy, working with designers and photographers, and coordinating with the vendors who print and distribute the paper.
Ruth Stevens, who has been managing editor of the Office of Communications and editor of the PWB for the past seven years, has been promoted to executive editor of the office. She will have general oversight of the PWB through her supervision of Quiñones and through the continuation of her work editing the materials produced by the office’s news team.
In addition, Jennifer Greenstein Altmann, staff writer since 2001, has been named assistant editor of the PWB. In addition to writing feature stories, she will continue her responsibilities producing the regular “Spotlight” and “By the numbers” columns.

“Eric is a brilliant writer whose ability to conquer difficult stories quickly has been a tremendous asset to Princeton. He’ll now have a chance to share those skills as an editor,” said Lauren Robinson-Brown, director of communications. “And he’ll have no better partner than Jennifer, who always pushes to reveal the little known yet fascinating facts about our faculty, staff and students.
“Ruth is known as a great manager and one of the best editors on campus,” Robinson-Brown continued. “This change means even more offices will get to benefit from her vast expertise.”
A major new responsibility for Stevens will be serving as a special liaison to selected departments to help them identify critical communications needs and plan strategically to address them. She previously has been involved in such efforts through her work editing University-wide reports, creating and editing content for campus websites and, most recently, serving on a project team associated with the campus planning initiative. She will continue to write major administrative announcements and to oversee and plan news content for the University home page.
