Princeton University’s 2009 United Way Campaign
To employees of Princeton University:
November 6, 2009
To employees of Princeton University,
We invite members of the Princeton University community to participate in this year’s United Way campaign, Live United. In today’s economic times, your generosity is needed more than ever for the United Way to be able to provide much needed relief to people in the greater Mercer County area.
The University will match 15 cents per dollar for all employee donations made through payroll deduction and 10 cents per dollar for all other gifts. The first 200 employees and retirees to return their pledge cards can receive two free tickets to the Princeton-Harvard home basketball game in Jadwin Gymnasium on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at 6 p.m.
You can choose how to designate your donation by distributing it among all programs within the United Way of Greater Mercer County or, with a minimum contribution of $52, allocating it to a United Way agency in your home community, to any specific program supported by United Way, or to any eligible charitable health or human care organization not supported by United Way. It is also possible for you to direct your donation to agencies that provide health or human care in other countries as well.
The United Way administers its funds to maintain its indirect management and fundraising costs at 16.6 percent to allow the remaining portion of contributions to be distributed directly to various agencies.
The enclosed information can help you decide how to direct your donation.
Please join us in demonstrating that, with your financial support, members of the Princeton University community care about the people and programs where we live and work. Please complete and mail your pledge cards TODAY in the enclosed envelope to Brandon Gaines, Office of the Vice President for Finance and Treasurer, 701 Carnegie Center, Suite 431.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Zia C. Bartley, campaign coordinator, at (609) 258-9149 or zbartley@princeton.edu.
Thank you for your generosity.
Sincerely,
