At Princeton, traditions play an important role in building community and telling the story of the University. With such a far-reaching history, Princeton has had traditions come and go, influenced by historical shifts, changing social mores and an evolving campus culture. The memories of some past traditions have faded over time, as students found new ways to celebrate class and school spirit. Other traditions live on as legends, or are reflected in a variety of shared activities that enliven the collective spirit of Princeton.
