Michael N. Danielson

Michael Danielson is the author of Home Team: Professional Sports and the American Metropolis; Federal-Metropolitan Politics and the Commuter Crisis; The Politics of Exclusion; and Profits and Politics in Paradise; and the coauthor of The Politics of Rapid Urbanization; New York: The Politics of Urban Regional Development; and One Nation, So Many Governments. Danielson is particularly interested in urban politics and urban development both in the United States and abroad. His current research deals with current efforts to reinvent cities as tourist and entertainment centers through an analysis of major convention, cultural, and sports facilities in the fifty largest metropolitan centers in the U.S. He is also completing a study of housing and school segregation in urban areas. He has advised state and federal agencies, elected officials, and private foundations. Ph.D. Princeton University.
