Michael Greenbert

Michael Greenberg, Professor, Associate Dean of the Faculty, and Director of the National Center for Neighborhood and Brownfields Redevelopment of the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, studies urban environmental health and urban redevelopment polices. His books include Urbanization and Cancer Mortality (1983), Hazardous Waste Sites: the Credibility Gap (1984), Public Health and the Environment (1987), Environmental Risk and the Press (1987), and Environmentally Devastated Neighborhoods in the United States (1996). Dr. Greenberg most recent book is Restoring America's Neighborhoods: How Local People Make a Difference (1999). Professor Greenberg has contributed more than 400 publications to scientific journals like Cancer Research, American Journal of Epidemiology, Risk Analysis, American Journal of Public Health, and public interest ones like Urban Affairs Review, Housing Policy Debate, Society, the Sciences, and Public Interest. Professor Greenberg most recently was a member of the National Research Council Committee that oversees the destruction of the U.S. chemical weapons stockpile. He serves as associate editor for environmental health for the American Journal of Public Health, and is on the editorial board of three other urban or public health journals.
