Christina Paxson’s fields of interest are economic development, applied microeconomics, and health. Her research in development economics has been concerned with saving and consumption behavior, the consequences of demographic change for saving and growth, and the measurement of poverty and inequality. She is currently researching income gradients in children's health outcomes, income inequality and mortality, racial differences in health outcomes, and the relationship between economic status and child abuse. Ph.D. Columbia University.
