Janellen Murphy Duffy, Senior Policy Advisor, New Jersey Office of the Governor

Janellen has been serving as Governor Corzine’s Director of Policy since December 2008. Before that she served as the Governor’s education policy advisor on preschool through 12th grade issues since February 2006. In her role as the Director of Policy, she participates in policymaking and analysis regarding a variety of topics including the State and federal economic recovery efforts and other poverty alleviation programs.
In her role as the Governor’s education policy advisor, Janellen worked closely with the NJ Department of Education on the creation of the new school funding formula and with the NJ Schools Development Authority on the authorization of an additional $3.9 billion for school construction projects across the State.
Before working in the Governor’s Office, Janellen served as a Presidential Management Fellow for the U.S. Senate Finance Committee and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
She holds an MPA from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton and a BA from Bucknell University.
