Simon Bertrang is a Program Manager in the Mayor’s Office of Capital Project Development in New York City. This office acts as the public developer on complex and large-scale economic development projects identified as Administration Priorities. He manages a portfolio of capital projects, including the City’s investment in a new Cultural District in Downtown Brooklyn and in major public space improvements in the new Long Island City Central Business District.
Before joining the Mayor’s Office, Mr. Bertrang led the Urban Design and Planning Studio at a civic works and public space oriented architecture and urban design firm in New York City. He also has extensive experience working on urban design, sustainable development, project management and planning issues in the not-for-profit sector, including at the Design Trust for Public Space, the Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey and Cityscape Institute.
Mr. Bertrang graduated from WWS with a MPA-URP in 2000 and from Yale University with a BA in Architecture in 1994.
