PRISM faculty member Rand receives 3M Nontenured Faculty Award
Prof. Barry Rand has been selected to receive a 3M Nontenured Faculty Award. Rand was recognized for his study of the optical and electrical properties of ultrasmall metal nanoclusters (diameters less than 2 nm) that act as emitters within thin film light emitting devices.
The award is administered by 3M’s Research and Development Community in partnership with 3M’s Corporate Giving Program. For more than 25 years, the program has recognized outstanding new faculty nominated by 3M researchers and selected based on their research, experience, and academic leadership. The purpose of the award is to help the awardees achieve tenure, remain in a teaching position, and conduct research.
