The Imaging and Analysis Center (IAC) has completed the installation of three major state-of-the-art instruments through the funds from PRISM, NSF-MRI, and NSF-MRSEC-PCCM. Updated operation procedure is to be implemented this fall.
Salvatore Torquato, a PRISM faculty member and a professor in the Department of Chemistry along with Yang Jiao, a graduate student in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering reported in the cover story of the Aug. 13, 2009 issue of Nature to have beaten the present world record for packing the most tetrahedra into a volume.
Roberto Car, the Ralph W. Dornte *31 Professor in Chemistry at Princeton and a faculty fellow of the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science, has been named a winner of the 2009 Dirac Medal for his significant contributions to physics.
