PRISM Professor Torquato to receive Adler Lectureship Award for Material Physics
Salvatore Torquato, Professor of Chemistry and the Princeton Institute for the Science and Technology of Materials, has been named the 2009 recepient of the prestigious David Adler Lectureship Award in the Field of Material Physics by the American Physical Society. The Award recognizes an outstanding contributor to the field of materials physics, who is noted for the quality of his/her research, review articles and lecturing.
Professor Torquato was specifically cited for his "highly original and deep studies of n-point correlation functions in heterogeneous materials and his outstanding communication of these results through publication and public presentation."
The Adler Award will be presented at the APS March 2009 meeting in Pittsburgh, PA, at a special Ceremonial Session.
