The Soos group has focused on magnetic, optical and electrical excitations on organic molecular solids. We developed correlated states to solve models, including NLO responses. We analyzed excitons and spin dynamics in Heisenberg chains, developed a joint description of ion-radical and charge-transfer organic solids, and modeled - and -conjugated polymers. We recently found a way to compute polarization energies and optical dielectric constants in organic crystals. The procedure works for films on metals, as used in organic electronic devices. We are studying neutral-ionic (valence) transitions and huge dielectric responses.
