Prof. Yazdani and his group study questions of fundamental significance in condensed matter physics using state-of-the-art experimental techniques. Their current activities include atomic scale imaging and spectroscopy of correlated electronic states, probing and manipulating single spins, and examining properties of two-dimensional superconductors. Many of their investigations are being carried out using high resolution scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) instruments that they have constructed over the years in their laboratory.
