Rohrer assists the provost in academic matters, such as planning and budgeting for new academic initiatives, and serves as secretary of the Academic Planning Group. She is also the provost’s general deputy for the University’s operating budget, collaborating with colleagues in the Office of the Treasurer. She assists departments and programs with budget issues and questions.
Rohrer earned a Ph.D. in musicology from Princeton in 1980. She held faculty posts in the music departments at Princeton and at Columbia University before returning to Princeton as director of studies at Wilson College in 1988. After briefly serving as assistant dean of the college, she became associate dean of the faculty in 1993 and vice provost in October 2001. Rohrer is an alumni trustee of Emory University, her undergraduate institution, and is a member of the board of the Morristown-Beard School in Morristown, NJ.
