CEG Extended Board Meeting

On Aug. 16th, five CEG board members and six CEG members attended the summer extended board meeting before the incoming board member renewal. The current board members reviewed their work during the past academic year followed by heated discussion about CEG’s future development.

The current board, including CEG’s founder, President Zhong Zheng, Hang Deng, Hao Chen, Kang Sun and Bin Guo, first gave review of their work during the past academic year. They highlighted the weekly lunch discussion, lab tour led by group members, visit to Princeton power plant, special invited seminars and the first annual member meeting. These activities run by the board members were greeted by CEG members and would be continued with even better organization in the future. Another milestone for CEG is the starting up of the official website, under the maintenance of the webmaster, Hao Chen. CEG members share their energy issues related perspectives and news with other Princeton students and other communities.

Following the review, six CEG members, Sili Deng, Yuan Hu, Wei Peng, Kuo Liao, Sheng Yang and Xiaoyu Tang, also contributed their ideas on improving CEG’s future development. Their discussion started with the motivation of group. As stated on CEG’s website, the group is aimed to help her members to have better academic development and educate her members to be future leads and thinkers. As for the organization of the group, besides mainly run by her board members, more members are welcome to get involved in the activities and contribute to the development of CEG. During the discussion, presenters brainstormed new ideas on future activities, aiming at better education for the group members, stronger bonding between group members, better collaboration with other Princeton organizations and better services to the community.
