Remember to vote!
Welcome to the PVotes Website!
A non-partisan student organization, Princeton Votes promotes civic engagement in both local and national politics. Founded during the 2004 Presidential election, Princeton Votes registered over 1300 students in its first year. Since then, we have been working to sustain our momentum to remind Princeton students about their ongoing responsibility to engage their leaders and vote.
Princeton Votes encourages students to register to vote either in New Jersey or in their home state. Many students do not realize that as a student at Princeton University, one has the opportunity to participate in New Jersey politics and government.
In the coming year, P-Votes will place a new emphasis on voter education. Because many students are not from NJ or are simply not familiar with the intricacies of state politics, we believe it is important to educate them in a nonpartisan, neutral fashion about the issues and candidates for whom they will cast their vote. Furthermore, we hope to educate students about the upcoming Presidential election, which will certainly be a milestone in our nation's history.
In this website, you will find information about how to register to vote in New Jersey, or if you prefer, how to register or apply for absentee ballots in your home state. You can also learn more about the upcoming general election.
We hope you find that P-Votes helps you become a part of our political community. If you have any questions or suggestions, always feel free to contact us at pvotes@princeton.edu.
