Profile
Aryeh Amihay is a fourth-year student working on a dissertation entitled “Law and Society in the Dead Sea Scrolls.” His interests include ancient Jewish literature, including Hebrew Bible, Second Temple Literature, and rabbinic literature. He is interested in development of exegetical traditions, intertextuality and imagery as literary devices. His current project addresses topics such as the philosophy, the uses and the origins of law, and their distinct formulation in Jewish Law in contrast to other ancient laws as well as modern law.
In 2009-2011 he is also a graduate fellow of Jewish Law & Interdisciplinary Studies at the Cardozo School of Law.
