Jacqueline Stone joined the Princeton faculty in 1990. She teaches Buddhism and Japanese religions, and her primary research field is Japanese Buddhism. She is the author of Original Enlightenment and the Transformation of Medieval Japanese Buddhism. Her current research interests include deathbed practices in premodern Japan, Buddhism and national identify, and the Nichiren and Tendai Buddhist traditions. She is currently on leave the 2009-2010 academic year.
