Weddings at the Chapel
Students and alumni/ae, current staff or faculty, and children of any of the above are eligible to use the University Chapel. Reservations may not be made more than two years in advance of the date requested.
We ask that all applications begin with a letter to The Rev. Deborah K. Blanks, Associate Dean of Religious Life (21 Murray-Dodge Hall, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ 08544), which includes the following information:
- your connection to the University and why you wish to be married in the Chapel;
- a current address and telephone number where you or a contact person can be reached at all times; and
- primary and alternate date and time for your wedding (call Chapel Administrator to determine availability).
A non-refundable $250 deposit made out to "Princeton University Chapel" must accompany the request letter, which will be returned if approval is denied .
If you are approved, we will send you further information, such as chapel use regulations, Music Information form, Marriage Register Information Form, fee schedules, rehearsal options and parking passes, at a future date.
ROMAN CATHOLICS must submit a request to Father Thomas J. Mullelly at the Aquinas Institute at least six months prior to the marriage for further instructions. The Aquinas Institute is located at 65 Stockton St., Princeton, NJ 08540. Since diocesan guidelines regarding the location of wedding ceremonies apply, Roman Catholic couples should not assume that permission to be married in the Chapel will be granted.
EPISCOPALIANS who wish to use a minister from outside the campus must inform the Chaplain of the Episcopal Church at Princeton, The Rev. Peter A. French, at least six months prior to the marriage. The Episcopal Church at Princeton University, 53 University Place, Princeton, NJ 08540.
