Robertson Lawsuit Overview

A settlement agreement in the Robertson v. Princeton lawsuit was reached on Dec. 9, 2008, giving Princeton University full control of the endowment associated with the Robertson Foundation. This site contains background regarding the lawsuit, which was filed by William Robertson and some members of the Robertson family in July 2002 in an attempt to seize control of funds that William's mother gave to Princeton in 1961. As part of the settlement agreement, the Robertson Foundation will be dissolved to create a fund that will continue to support the graduate program of the Woodrow Wilson School. The University's full statement about the settlement agreement is available as a public statement below.
