Jean-Christophe de Swaan
JC de Swaan has been teaching at Princeton since the Spring of 2009 as a Lecturer in the Economics Department. He teaches a joint undergraduate and graduate course on Asian capital markets and a Freshman seminar on the ethics of financial markets. He also teaches at the University of Cambridge and has taught at Yale University, Cheung Kong Business School and Renmin University in Beijing. Additionally, he is a Principal at Cornwall Capital, a multi-strategy hedge fund based in New York. Prior to that, he was a special adviser on China at a global macro hedge fund, a Principal at an Asia-dedicated hedge fund, and a consultant at McKinsey & Company. He received his B.A. from Yale University, where he studied political science and history of art, an MPhil in International Relations from the University of Cambridge, and a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He is a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He grew up in Paris in a bicultural French-American family. He lives with his wife Sun-Sun in New York, commutes to Princeton, and is always keen to meet up with students in the Rocky dining hall.
