I'm a California native and a soon-to-be sixth-year (!) graduate student in the History Department here at Princeton. Before coming to Princeton, I completed a double major at UC Berkeley in history and religious studies. I have recently returned from a two-year long stint in Paris where I unearthed mountains of information for my dissertation on immigrant communities in Paris during the 1920s and 1930s. While there, I also gained an avid appreciation for French novels, European cinema, and offensive-smelling cheeses of every sort. To counteract all those sedentary hours spent "dissertating," I love running, hiking, and listening to dance music at the highest possible volume.
