I grew up in the dessert-- Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, that is-- though I am originally from Rovaniemi, Finland. Then, I attended boarding school in England before coming to the US for college. Four years at MIT taught me that science and engineering is awesome and made me realize that chemical-biological engineering is my calling. I then decided to pursue a Ph.D. at Princeton and I am currently a second year graduate student in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Research in mammary gland development and breast cancer invasion is what gets me up in the mornings. Apart from academics, I enjoy running, skiing, baking, and eating baked goods.
