Makadini! (That’s “hello” in Shona) I’m Tanyaradzwa Ashleigh Tawengwa from Harare, Zimbabwe. I am a rising junior in the music department. I am also pursuing certificates in African Studies, Theater, French and Music Performance. I live for anything to do with music! I founded Umqombothi – Princeton’s African music ensemble – and I am also a member of the Glee Club and Sensemaya Afrobeat All-stars. I love cooking and I enjoy taking long strolls across Princeton’s beautiful campus. I am looking forward to welcoming the wonderful class of ’16 to Princeton and to the distinguished family of Rockefeller College. See you soon!
