University Cost Savings

Individual members of the campus community can help reduce costs and save resources by paying attention to a few simple reminders:

• Think before you print
• Duplex printing on copiers and desktop printers
• Receive your printed pay statement electronically through ePay
• Turn off the lights when leaving buildings/offices
• Turn off computer monitors each night
• Take the stairs instead of the elevator
• Recycle - it lowers our costs
• Use the University's state sales tax exemptions when applicable
• Consider using Surplus items prior to purchasing new items
• Develop departmental guidelines for the allocation and use of mobile devices
• Consider using the University's videoconferencing facilities as an alternative to travel
• Encourage brown bag instead of lunch meetings
