Can I upgrade my SCI computer?
Can I purchase more RAM or a larger hard drive?
Only those items listed in the SCI store are available through the SCI program. There are no upgrades, accessories, or changes to the SCI models available unless they are listed as an option in the store.
Once you have received the computer you can upgrade the model by adding additional memory, storage, or peripherals. You will need to purchase these items outside of the SCI program and take care of the upgrades yourself, but you can seek advice from the OIT Help Desk or the OIT Solution Center in Frist Campus Center.
Microsoft Campus Agreement Upgrades
All SCI customers are covered by a special license agreement between Princeton University and Microsoft. SCI customers are eligible for as long as they are actively enrolled for upgrades to new releases of Microsoft products covered by the agreement. SCI Macintosh customers can get a copy of MS Windows through this agreement and have MS Windows as a dual boot option.
Software upgrades are made available through OIT Software Sales in the OIT Solutions Center. (A nominal charge applies to cover the cost of the media (CD, DVD, etc.) on which the upgrades are provided to you.
