Since its inception, SGS has worked on technical and policy matters related to nuclear weapons and nuclear energy. Among the topics that SGS researchers address are nuclear proliferation, strategic arms reductions, nuclear weapons postures, nuclear energy in the contexts of nuclear disarmament and climate mitigation, fast breeder reactors, nuclear power in developing countries, and radioactive waste management.
