Accessing Shared Folders


Windows Users

Windows users can connect to shared folders by doing the following:

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Pull up to Run...
  3. Enter \\{server name}\{directory name} on the command line and click OK

For example:

\\arc-prometheus\software (for software downloads)

\\arc-prometheus\studio (to access and save to the scratch space)
 


Mac Users

  1. With the finder active select the Go Menu and then select "Connect to Server."
  2. In the address bar enter the host address of the shared computer using the following format. smb://hostname/
  3. The hostname must be the full hostname and DNS domain of the computer on the network.

For example:

smb://arc-prometheus.princeton.edu
