Public Software Store

Welcome to the Public Software Store. The Public Software Store makes available Open Source public software packages that have been built for Linux and Solaris, and configured for the Princeton environment. The Public Software Store also provides standard processes to register, distribute, update and decommission packages.

The Public Software Store was initially built around a core set of packages sponsored by OIT. Additional packages may be added with sponsorship by an individual or department. Package sponsors are responsible for keeping track of available updates.

The Public Software Store replaces the functionality of /usr/princeton and uses a maintainable, forward-thinking architecture and, at the same time, provides additional features, such as RPM distribution, timely upgrades, and package decommissioning.
