Larissa Brewer-García appointed Lecturer and Cotsen Postdoctoral Fellow in Race and Ethnicity Studies

Larissa Brewer-García (Ph.D., University of Pennsylvania; B.A., Columbia University) specializes in cultural productions of colonial Latin America and the African diaspora in the early modern Atlantic World. Her current research focuses on translation and representations of racialization and hierarchy in colonial texts.  She will teach Blackness in the Early Modern Atlantic World this Fall, as well as Writing Women's Bodies in Early Latin America in the Spring.
