Lisa Hirschmann

Lisa is in her fourth year as a graduate student in SPO (as of the 2013-24 academic year).  She is currently working on the first chapter of her dissertation, which is a study of the discourses and cultural production surrounding mass emigration from Spain to the Americas during the period 1880 to 1930.  She graduated from Columbia College in 2008, and completed coursework for the Magíster in Cultural Studies at the Universidad de Artes y Ciencias Sociales (ARCIS) in Santiago, Chile, before coming to Princeton.  Her academic interests include transatlantic cultural studies and modern Spanish and Latin American literatures.
