Is there a projector in that classroom?
It's easy to search for media-equipped classrooms at OIT's Media Services website. Simply select the desired capacity range, the equipment you'll need, and a preferred building, if any. Their application will return a list of rooms that meet your criteria. (Hint: To simply display what's on your laptop to your audience, you'll need "Data/Video Projection" in the room.)

The HelpDesk—now just a click away
University community members can reach an OIT Help Desk consultant by telephone, e-mail, and now via a new online chat service. It's easy to use and provides the same stellar service as always. Give it a try! The next time you have an IT question, an online chat might be just what the PC Doctor ordered! |

Clickers in the classroom
"These systems provide new ways to gauge students' understanding of topics in class and they can help to focus students' attention during lectures. The systems contain a small radio receiver connected to the instructor's presentation computer, and the software for collecting the responses."

Urban legends at Snopes Ever get an email that sounds too good to be true? How about one that pays you or makes a donation for forwarding the email because they are (Red Cross, the Gap) testing an email tracker? Here at Princeton you're protected from such spam. Others aren't so lucky, so they turn to the SNOPES FOLKS to see if the story is genuine or, more commonly, a hoax.
Try it! Click the link above or go to www.snopes.com and see if you can donate to "animal rescue" just by clicking your mouse! Search for "Yahoo" to see if a couple who met over the Internet named their child Yahoo. Or see if a student paid for college with "one-cent donations." Are these real? Just enter the quoted words into Snopes' Search box to find out. |

Animated engines
"Engines in particular have always intrigued me. All my life I've pored over books, studying cutaway diagrams, hungry to understand how things worked. These pages are an attempt to share that magic. " |
