Diverse Interests

The University established these centers to increase dialogue among students and provide them with extra support. They can be great academic, cultural and social resources.

Fields Center for Equality & Cultural Understanding

The Fields Center focuses on exploring issues of diversity, equity and cultural pluralism. It includes a student governing board that works with the director to organize lectures, concerts, art exhibitions, movies, poetry festivals, dialogue groups and more.

Davis International Center

The Davis International Center offers a variety of services for students interested in international issues. The center sponsors weekly lunches, regular international speakers' tables in the residential colleges, lectures, cultural events, discussion groups and the annual International Festival. Community outreach includes providing speakers for local schools and giving cultural performances. It also enables community and campus volunteers to serve as host families, English conversation tutors and community resource-persons for international students and their families. You should stop by the center in Frist to sign up for the newsletter, seek assistance or volunteer.

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Center

Princeton's LGBT Center, located in Frist Campus Center, works to create a safe and supportive environment through educational opportunities and advocacy concerning the needs and concerns of LGBT students. The center works to maintain an open and affirming environment devoid of homophobia, heterosexism and gender bias. The center provides programs, student advising, training and consultation for the entire campus community.

Women's Center

The Women's Center, located in Frist Campus Center, was founded in 1971, two years after Princeton went coed. Today's Women's Center provides educational programs and information about gender-related issues, and it encourages student leadership and advocates for change that enhances the quality of life for women. The center hosts regular events, such as a monthly lunch for students of color, as well as forums on topics such as athletics, eating concerns, homophobia and feminism at Princeton.

Take it from me

"One of my favorite things to do is go to the International Center's ethnic lunches in the Murray-Dodge Cafe. For less than three dollars, you can have a delicious lunch while mingling with international students or chatting with your friends."
