ISS Poster Session/Competition
Deadline: August 1, 2012
Innovations for Successful Societies announces a poster session/competition to highlight university research on improving public services and government accountability. It welcomes submissions from Princeton University faculty, graduate students, and post-docs or visiting fellows. We will feature the posters at a half-day conference later in 2012. On the advice of a team of judges, ISS will award prizes for the best entries. The deadline is August 1, 2012.

Mzia Mikeladze, pioneer in Georgian public administration, passed away
Mzia Mikeladze, pioneer in Georgian public administration, passed away on January 20, 2012 at the age of 51. Mikeladze was the Deputy Director of the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University as well as the Dean of the Caucasus School of Governance at Caucasus University. In addition, she was the President of the Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe. Trained as an IT engineer, she earned her Ph.D. from the Moscow Institute of Control Problems. She later graduated from the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) with a master's degree in public administration. She served as the Dean of GIPA for seven years and was involved in the introduction of the Zurab Zhvania School of Public Administration in Kutaisi.
