Student Environmental Communication Network Summer Program - Application Deadline Extended!
( More about event)
The deadline for SECN applications has been extended to March 30th!
The Student Environmental Communication Network (SECN) trains students of diverse creative and technical backgrounds to produce digital media stories based on their explorations of sustainability. During the 8-week Summer Intensive Digital Media Internship, students research the nuances of sustainability, practice the journalistic and technical skills necessary to communicate those nuances, and apply their new skills to help local community organizations video document and communicate their sustainability initiatives. SECN productions embody the character of their student producers who often bring musical, illustration, humor, storytelling, and other creative talents to the endeavor.
New to the program will be exciting opportunities to work with local community organizations like the Stony-Brook Millstone Watershed Association, D & R Greenway, Isles, and others as producers of video works highlighting their sustainability initiatives.
