Revolution in a Bottle: How TerraCycle is Redefining Green Business
The public is invited to learn about what Inc. calls the "The coolest little startup in America." During his freshman year at Princeton, Tom Szaky co-founded a company that recycles garbage into worm poop, liquefies it, and packages it in soda bottles. Since Mr. Szaky's discovery five years ago, this product, TerraCycle Plant Food, is now sold in Home Depot, Target and more than 3000 other locations. Mr. Szaky will speak about his belief in a new approach to business, eco-capitalism based on a "triple bottom line." His argument is that business should develop products that put the good of people and the environment on par with profitability, and how this practice can enhance product profitability in the long run.
