Purchasing Department Vendor Life Cycle Assessment Tool Development, Phase 2

Drink Local Initiative: Reducing Bottled Water Consumption and Changing Culture
This initiative builds on momentum established since the first "Drink Local" water bottle give-away to incoming first-year students in 2009. The 2011 water bottles will continue to feature the popular map of campus with locations of filler stations indicated. This initiative accompanies a Facilities Department effort to retrofit existing water fountains to include filler spouts across campus. Since 2009 over 60 have been retrofitted, and more are planned for summer 2011. Project Lead: Office of Sustainability

Building Energy Performance Kiosk for Butler College
This project supports the installation of a touch-screen building performance kiosk in the new Butler College building complex. A key feature includes real-time display of Butler College green roof performance data from the High Meadows Foundation supported academic green roof research project conducted by Dr. Eileen Zerba. Other features will include building energy usage information, TigerTransit shuttle locations, energy competition elements, and access to online campus sustainability resources. Project Leads: Office of Sustainability, Facilities Engineering

Student Environmental Communication Network (SECN) Summer 2011 Intensive Training Internship
In partnership with the Pace Center, the SECN summer session will expand to a full 8-week all expenses paid summer internship. The program trains Princeton students in audio and video production exploring the nuances of sustainability topics and issues. The program will include 5 weeks of laboratory and classroom training, followed by 3 weeks of local area field work. Outcomes will include short audio and video works in a "did you know" format, useful for both enhancing campus sustainability communications and those of local organizations engaged in sustainability endeavors. Project Lead: Office of Sustainability

Sustainability Open House 2010
In 2010 Princeton hosted its second sustainability Open House, expanding on the first by inviting local merchants and non-profits with sustainability as their core mission in addition to campus sustainability partners. The event also featured a Trash Sculpture Contest open to all campus and community members, with prizes for the winning entries. Over 500 visitors attended. Project Lead: Office of Sustainability

Sustainability Progress Publication 2010 and 2011
This funding will allow the Office of Sustainability to produce its 2nd and 3rd annual sustainability progress publications. The purpose is to report to the campus and broader community progress toward goals stated in the University's 2008 strategic Sustainability Plan. Project Lead: Office of Sustainability
