Intern Position, Job Description Discussion

Peter Allen ’07 has accepted the summer intern position and will begin his assignment on June 13th. Peter will spend the first two weeks assisting Dining Services in the development and coordination of the environmental practices section of their web pages. He will also compile data on locally produced food items and products. Peter will also gather information about the impact and benefits of a Sustainability Coordinator as well as the potential cost savings the position might create.

Sustainability Director/Coordinator Position

Julie Newman, Sustainability Director at Yale University, has agreed to attend a PEOC meeting this summer to talk about her role at Yale and assist the committee with the process of developing a Sustainability Director/Coordinator position at Princeton. A PEOC meeting will be scheduled mid July.

Education Session on Green Purchasing at Princeton

Don Weston reported Priscilla Hayes, Environmental Coordinator, Rutgers State University, contacted him regarding an education session on Green Purchasing at Princeton to be held in early October. Several higher education institutions are expected to attend. Don will host the group. Chad Klaus suggested Don contact Eric Hamblin, Director of Conference and Event Services, regarding space for the event.
