Hot Spots

Mobile Hotspots are available to faculty and staff while traveling on University business only. Hotspots are available for reservation through the OIT Loaner program at the OIT Solutions Center Room 113 Frist Campus Center.

There is no cost to borrow the equipment, however excessive talk, text or data usage, especially in international destinations could result in a bill back to the department. User’s should use discretion and be cognizant of their cellular data, text, and talk usage while using our loaner equipment.

Program Policies
Mobile Hotspots must be returned to the Solutions Center Room 113 Frist Campus Center, no later than 9:30 a.m. on the specified return date (devices may be reassigned to another faculty or staff member later that day).  If you are unable to return the device on the scheduled time and date, please notify the Help Desk as soon as possible. Upon return the device will be inspected to ensure that it is in working condition. Any damages or missing parts will result in charges to your departmental chart string. A late fee of $5/day may be charged if a mobile hotspot is not returned on the designated return date.

Reserving a Mobile Hotspot
To reserve a Mobile Hotspot, please complete the Mobile Reservation Form. Mobile Hotspots are loaned out on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will be notified within one business day whether a mobile hotspot is available for the period you requested.
