OIT is pleased to offer loaner laptops for faculty and staff traveling on University business. The laptop may be encrypted except in cases where travel is to nations subject to encryption import or export controls.

Reminder: Decrypt external USB drives and other devices before traveling to countries subject to encryption import or export controls.

  • In the event the laptop or any of its components are lost or damaged, charges will apply to the project grant supplied at time of request.
Maximum loan period
  • Up to 30 days
  • Members of the University's faculty and staff for their travel while on university business.
  • Laptop loaner packet includes: computer, carrying case, international travel adapter (if required) and power supply.
Reserving a Laptop device

A seven day notice is required for your loaner request to be processed. To reserve an OIT laptop computer, complete the Laptop Loaner Form. Laptops are loaned out on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon receiving your request, the OIT Solutions Center staff will contact you with pickup instructions. All pickups and returns are made through the Solutions Center Room 113 Frist Campus Center.
