Mobile Technology Loaner Services offers Smartphones for short-term loan by faculty and staff traveling on University business. The Smartphone Loaner Program includes devices with either domestic or international coverage. Program details are as follows:

OIT will cover the first $25 and the user will be responsible for charges over $25.


 

International data is covered on the plans in certain countries. To check Verizon coverage please click here. For AT&T coverage please click here. Calls and text for both carriers are charged at a per minute/per text fee. Those charges vary depending on the area of travel. OIT will cover the first $25 and the user will be responsible for charges over $25.

Program policies
All requests must be submitted no later than 5 business days prior to traveling. Please allow 30 minutes set up time for all devices, except laptops, which may require up to 45 minutes.
The pick up date should be no later than 1 day prior to travel and picked up no later than 3:00 pm. Please understand that mobile devices are limited and may be reassigned to another faculty or staff member later that day. Devices must be returned to Frist Campus Center Room 113, no later than 9:30 am of the specified return date. A late fee of $5/day may be charged if a device is not returned on the designated return date. Damages and/or missing items will result in charges to your departmental Prime Chart String. If you are unable to return the device on the scheduled date and time, please notify the Help Desk as soon as possible.

 

Reserving a device
To reserve a cellular phone, complete the Mobile Reservation Form. 
Mobile devices and accessories are limited and lent out on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will be notified within one business day whether a phone is available for the period you requested. For those who request devices in advance, due to limited supplies this is not a guarantee that a device will be available at your time of travel, due to unforeseen circumstances and changing priorities. We apologize if a certain device is not available during your time of travel.
