Unwanted Telemarketing Calls
You do not have to be subject to calls from telemarketers at your residence but there is no such protection for a non-residential number. To eliminate these calls, register your dormitory or residence phone number with the Federal Do Not Call Registry. This will also automatically place the number in the New Jersey Do Not Call Registry. To register your telephone number, you must call 1-888-382-1222 from the phone you are registering. It may be some time until the calls stop, but the registration is good for 5 years. If you wish to receive telemarketing calls, call the same number to remove the number from the registry.
