Gavriel Brown, Yeshiva College
Gavriel is an upcoming senior in the Jay and Jeannie Schottenstein Honors Program at Yeshiva College where he studies English Literature. He participated in the first Tikvah High School Scholars Program. He studied Talmud and Jewish philosophy at Yeshivat Ma'ale Gilboa during his gap year. He essays for Kol Hamevaser, YU’s Jewish Journal, was the editor of Chronos, the history journal of YU, and received the Yeshiva College English department summer fellowship. Last summer he interned at NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Washington, D.C. He is interested in the intersection between journalism and education and writes extensively on issues relating to pedagogy, curriculum design, and ethics in education. He won the Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics in 2013 and Yeshiva University's Point of Light award in 2012. Next year, he will be editor-in-chief of The Commentator, the official newspaper of Yeshiva College.
