Elizabeth Cohn, Masorti Foundation
Elli Cohn graduated magna cum laude from Muhlenberg College in December 2012, where she majored in religious studies with a minor in Jewish studies. Her primary academic interests are Second Temple Judaism and early Christianity. For her work in the study of religion, she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, received the Women’s Auxiliary of Muhlenberg College Pretheological Scholarship, and the Anna Sherman Williams Award in Hebrew from the Jewish Theological Seminary. Elli served two terms as president of the interfaith club and represented the Institute for Jewish-Christian Understanding at several conferences. She was a summer fellow at Yeshivat Hadar in 2011 and studied at Jerusalem’s Conservative Yeshiva in the summer of 2012. Currently, Elli works as the Development Associate for the Masorti Foundation and teaches fifth-grade students at the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue Religious School. Elli will begin rabbinical school at JTS in the fall of 2013, with the goal of being involved in Jewish education for both children and adults. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and going for long walks.
