Mati Engel (Yeshiva University)
Mati Engel is a rising senior at Yeshiva University, where she is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in photography at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Mati has also started her master's in the Joint BA/MA program at Revel, with a focus in Jewish Philosophy. In addition to her eclectic academic interests, Mati has a passion for travel abroad, where she has found unique ways to incorporate community service. As a result, her colorful itinerary has included backpacking the terrains of India while conducting psychosocial research on Indian students at St. Xaviers University as well as dancing with Nicaraguan locals while participating in library construction project with the American Jewish World Service during her winter break. In her free time, Mati collaborates with Jewish artists and musicians on various projects like Art Galleries or open mics. During the summer of 2012 she was a JFEW Fellow on CLIP (Collegiate Leadership Internship Program), where she explored personal development and emotional health through her internship at F.E.G.S. Health and Human Services System. She spent her past summer running group therapy sessions for mentally disabled adults.
