Yoav Schaefer, Harvard University
Originally from Southern California, Yoav Schaefer made aliyah to Israel in 2006. He is the co-founder of the Avi Schaefer Fund, a non-profit organization created in memory of Yoav’s identical twin brother Avi. The Fund is committed to cultivating open and nuanced conversations about Israel and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and promoting interfaith and cross-cultural understanding among young people. By furthering the values of empathy, understanding, mutual respect and civil dialogue, the Fund hopes to empower young people to be agents of change in their respective communities. Yoav is currently a sophomore at Harvard University studying Social Studies (political and social theory).
