Thematic Working Groups

The Tikvah Project sponsors a series of thematic working groups. The purpose of the working groups is to spur new thinking and writing on the most interesting questions, subjects, and thinkers. The working groups focus either on a theme (e.g. redemption, holiness, hope), a thinker (e.g., Philo, Nachmanides, Hans Jonas), or a text (e.g., the Haggadah, Job, Halakhic Man). Each working group has a group leader and six to eight professors (mostly mid-level and senior, appointed by the group leader), who convene three times over the year to work on their common subject, with each participant expected to write a publishable new essay or commentary as the culmination of the group’s work.
