Location and Accessibility
LOCATION
University Health Services (UHS) at McCosh Health Center is located in the heart of campus, next to Frist Campus Center. The main entrance to UHS is from Washington Road.
Daytime Entry
Entry is through the front, side, and back doors. The front and side doors are both handicapped accessible. The front door handicapped access is electronically operated.
After-hours Entry
The doors are locked after 4:45 p.m. during the academic year. A call button is located in the foyer at the front door (entrance closest to Frist Campus Center) to reach the nurses station for entry into the building.
Parking at UHS
Parking at UHS is restricted to emergency vehicles, authorized handicapped parking, Public Safety, medical transports and authorized vehicles only. Patient parking is only by special permit. Parking permits may be issued as available and needed, and must be displayed at all times. Unauthorized parking will result in towing. If you are unable to reach UHS on foot, please call 8-3134 to have Public Safety bring you to McCosh Health Center.

Wheelchair Access
Wheelchair accessible entrances to UHS are located on the side of the building and at the front door, which opens electronically.
TDD Access
UHS has TDD equipment for the hearing impaired for use in contacting professional staff and UHS. Call (609) 258-4991 for more information. The TDD equipment is located on the 2nd floor in the IThe Infirmary during the academic year.
Handicapped Parking
Handicapped parking is available next to the front entrance. Vehicles must have authorized handicapped parking tags.
Medical Transport Vehicle Rental Program (Golf Carts)
Students who have trouble ambulating due to an injury or another medical reason may rent an MTV upon referral from a UHS clinician. Students are responsible for rental fees during use. Students must complete a training program and sign a rental agreement. For more information about the MTV Rental Program, call (609) 258-3555.
Medical Transports
On campus students who are ill or injured who need transportation to UHS can call the Department of Public Safety at (609) 258-3134 for assistance. Except in extreme medical emergencies, the Department of Public Safety does not provide transportation to off-campus hospitals or physician offices. When true emergencies arise, UHS arranges transportation with the Department of Public Safety. Routine medical transports are done by taxi if the student has no other means available. Students are responsible for payment. Emergency funding is available. Call (609) 258-3555 for more information.
Documentation of Visit
Students are responsible for notifying professors of absences from class due to illness or injury and for making arrangements for completion of academic requirements. Upon request, the front desk staff of Outpatient Services and Counseling and Psychological Services will provide documentation of dates of visits to the health center. The Inpatient Services nurse can also provide such documentation.
