Medical Parking Requests
Faculty and staff who need to park closer to their workplace due to a medical condition are allowed medical parking according to specific criteria. Requests will be honored only on a space available basis and when validated by UHS.
SHORT-TERM PARKING REQUESTS
Requests for short-term medical parking for specific needs, (e.g., fractures or orthopedic surgery requiring casts, crutches, wheelchairs etc.), will be evaluated by Employee Health Services to determine the amount of time needed (maximum of 4 weeks).
CHRONIC STABLE AND MEDICAL PARKING REQUESTS
Certain medical conditions (e.g., asthma, degenerative conditions, and arthritis) do not qualify for special parking privileges. The Parking Office will try to accommodate staff by placing them on the employee shuttle route or suggest they manage their time when reporting to the work place.
Note: Medical disabilities requiring parking in State Handicapped designated spaces do not fall under UHS or the Parking Office jurisdiction. This program is administered through the Division of Motor Vehicles in the employee’s state of residence.
