The Princeton University Student Health Plan (SHP) is a self-insured plan.  The United States Department of Health and Human Services has issued regulations relating to fully-insured plans.  At the present time those regulations do not apply to the Princeton University self-insured SHP.  The University is actively engaged with a group of like universities with self-insured plans to discuss these issues.
